Screenshot 2024-09-09 222655.png

Throughout her acting career, Shayna has grown to have a deep passion for dramaturgy and the world of new play development. Working in this field, she has had the opportunity to work with companies such as the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, GableStage, Theatre Lab, Thinking Cap Theatre, the University of Central Florida, Palm Harbor University, and Florida Atlantic University, to name a few.

Additionally, she has found interest in working as a Cultural Production Consultant for companies that wish to have an ethnic and active Jewish individual assist in the education of actors, authenticity, and integrity of their shows focused on Jewish heritage and identity. As a Production Consultant, she has worked on productions such as Prayer for the French RepublicFiddler on the Roof, and Paula Vogel's Indecent. These opportunities have allowed her to work with leading playwrights in the new works community, such as Idris Goodwin, Luis Roberto Herrera, and Deborah Zoe Laufer.

Shayna recently served as a Production Assistant to Theatre Lab’s New Play Festival, where she gained experience in the organization and artistic management of new works development on a professional level.

She is always looking for new dramaturgy and literary development opportunities and would be delighted to email her CV upon request.

The Last Yiddish Speaker

Shayna had the opportunity to work with Deborah Zoe Laufer on the first reading of her new work, The Last Yiddish Speaker. This play was incredibly fulfilling and meaningful to Shayna as a Jewish woman who wants to bring light to the rising antisemitism in our country today.

Vision

Shayna is a hard-working and proficient actor, writer & and dramaturg with a passion for developing and creating thought-provoking art that encourages social change and challenges normalcy. She is actively pursuing a future in acting, research, dramaturgy/literary management, new play development, and Jewish theatre.
