Shayna Gilberg is a Florida-based actor, singer, and dancer. Born and raised in Tarpon Springs, FL, she grew up studying theatre and dance for most of her life and is a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida BFA Musical Theatre and Dance Minor programs (Class of 2022). Always striving to continue her education, Shayna is currently pursuing her MFA in Acting at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL with expected graduation in Summer 2024.
Recently, Shayna made her South Florida Professional Debut playing the role of Sarah in Deborah Zoe Laufer's new play The Last Yiddish Speaker (Staged Reading) at Theatre Lab. Favorite credits include 9 to 5: The Musical (Doralee Rhodes), The Lady from the Sea (Bolette Wangel), Shrek the Musical (Princess Fiona) at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Orlando, Sunday in the Park with George (Celeste), First Date (Woman 1: Aaron’s Mother, Lauren, Facebook, Grandma Ida), and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Ella), for which she was a Best Actress winner and a finalist for Broadway Star of the Future in 2017. In the Orlando-themed entertainment scene, she has been seen showcasing her singing, acting, and stage combat skills at Pirate's Dinner Adventure Orlando (Princess Anita.).
On-screen, she has appeared in numerous short films, commercials (film/print), industrials, and webisodes. Shayna is represented for Film, TV, and Commercial by Talent Direct Agency (FL).
Shayna is also passionate about Theatre Education and has taught and directed numerous summer camp and youth productions. She also teaches college-level acting to undergraduate students at Florida Atlantic University. She enjoys dramaturgy and has worked as a dramaturg for Playfest at the Orlando Shakes.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her rescue cat, listening to Taylor Swift, practicing piano, and playing all kinds of video games. Shayna is passionate about animal rescue and has spent many years volunteering at the Suncoast Animal League.
